Car Washing? You have invested your hard-earned money to buy a car! And now the question is, how to keep it clean. Right? Well, keeping a car clean is challenging for new car owners. And it’s not a task that you take lightly! Of course, you have to invest in auto detailing. But the better your car looks, the more you get out of your vehicle. So, keeping this in mind, we have highlighted a few dos and don’ts to help you wash your car safely.
Dos and dont’s to follow for Car washing
Do – Always Use Two Buckets
Using this method can keep your car’s paint looking flawless. But remember, avoid rubbing it repeatedly with dirt when washing your car. This method involves two buckets where one is filled with soapy water, and the other is only with water. However, after you suds up your vehicle, dip the wash mitt into the rinse bucket to clear off grime before soaping it up again.
Don’t – Use Old T-Shirt, Towels, and Rag
Tattered towels and old tees are easy to come by. But they are not soft like microfiber cloth which is easier on a car’s finish. In terms of a gentler wash, you can use a microfiber chenille noodle mitt. And to dry the car, we always suggest using either a waffle-weave towel or a microfiber towel.
Do – Brush and Vacuum the Floor Mat
A vacuum cleaner can’t catch the dirt stuck to the carpet. Hence, it’s best to lose the dirt first with a stiff brush. Vacuum cleaners are strong. But this approach can assure that anything captured in the carpet would come out.
Don’t – Use a Circular Motion
Using a circular motion when washing your car can be majorly responsible for developing scratches. Instead, move the mitt or towel in straight lines or a z pattern. But an accidental scratch in a straight line is easier to touch up.
Do – Wear Car-Friendly Clothes
Belt buckles, bracelets, and zip-up hoodies can harm your car’s paint. So, before starting the job, consider what you have. But it’s best to wear a microfiber apron when washing your vehicle.
Don’t – Forget to Protect the Seats
Getting in and out of your car can even lead to cracking if you don’t condition the seats frequently. Clean leather seats and moisturize them with a leather conditioner. But it depends on how long your car spends in the sun.
